Ebike Freedom Cic is launching a 4-day, SCQF Level 7 Cycle Trainer course provided by Cycling Scotland accredited instructor on 14–15 & 21–22 March 2026 for people with experience of the justice system who want to build skills and become peer trainers.

You’ll learn to deliver National Standards cycle training — helping others in custody and in the community gain confidence, independence, and wellbeing through cycling.

If you can cycle confidently, communicate clearly, and know basic bike maintenance, this could be your next step.

To achieve the qualification, attendance on all 4 days is mandatory. Limited quota on first-come-first-served basis. Cycling assessment may be required.

    Before starting this training course, you must have the following skills:

    • Be able to cycle confidently on complex, busy, and fast roads

    • Have an understanding and awareness of road and traffic conditions

    • Communicate effectively with other people

    • Have a reasonable level of cycling fitness

    • Be decisive, maintain good discipline, inspire confidence, and give encouragement

    • Understand basic bike maintenance.

    Because each funded place is valued at £300, we ask participants to show commitment and attend the full course so the opportunity can benefit you fully.

  • This Cycle Trainer course is delivered in partnership with Cycling Scotland, who own and oversee the National Standards for cycle training.

    To receive your certificate and qualification, successful participants will need to create a Cycling Scotland account.
