Join the Board of Ebike Freedom CIC.
We’re looking for new volunteer Directors to help shape the future of Ebike Freedom CIC — a Glasgow community organisation that uses cycling to improve mobility, independence and wellbeing.
Our work supports people who face barriers to cycling, including disabled people, prisoners preparing for release, ethnic minorities, new immigrants and those experiencing cost-of-living challenges.
What we do
🦽 Adapt e-bikes and trikes for people with mobility difficulties
🔧 Refurbish second-hand bikes for people who cannot afford new ones
🏛️ Run cycling leadership and rehabilitation programmes in prisons
🌍 Support immigrant communities through cycling
💚 Use cycling to improve mental health and reduce isolation
Who we’re looking for
You don’t need a specific background — we welcome anyone who shares our values and wants to support our mission.
We would particularly welcome people with:
• lived experience of disability or mobility challenges
• experience in community work, health, social work or education
• skills in fundraising, finance or business
• connections to the communities we serve
Most importantly: a genuine passion for what we do.
What’s involved
• Voluntary Non-Executive Director role
• Around 2–3 board meetings per year
• Strategic advice and governance — no day-to-day operational responsibility
• Ebike Freedom is a company limited by guarantee, so directors’ liability is limited
