Ebike Freedom CIC is looking for a friendly, organised and community-minded Part-time Volunteer Development Coordinator to help us develop a new volunteer pathway within our cycling programmes.

The role will support community volunteers to gain experience, develop cycling skills and potentially progress towards cycle trainer, ride leader or bike mechanic roles.

The coordinator will work mainly on Mondays, with some flexibility for volunteer communication and administration during the week.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit and welcome new volunteers
• Coordinate inductions, shadowing opportunities and rotas
• Maintain regular communication with volunteers
• Support volunteers during cycling sessions, mainly on Mondays, with occasional work on other days agreed in advance
• Keep attendance, training and progression records
• Liaise with the lead cycle instructor and Ebike Freedom team
• Help create a positive and supportive volunteer experience

About you

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience supporting or coordinating volunteers
• Is organised, reliable and confident communicating with different people
• Can work independently and manage their own time
• Has an interest in community development, cycling or inclusive activities
• Understands safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries
• Is regularly available on Mondays

Cycling experience is welcome but not essential. Training and programme induction will be provided.

Some work may involve programmes supporting justice-experienced participants. Relevant background checks and safeguarding requirements may apply.

Contract details

• Freelance, self-employed contract
• £15 per hour
• Up to 320 hours over 12 months
• Approximately six hours per week on average
• Mainly Monday-based, with some flexible administration time
• Based in Glasgow
• The contractor will be responsible for their own tax, National Insurance and insurance arrangements
