Free bike loans and cycle training, delivered in support of University of Glasgow research into cycling and climate.
What it was
Cycle Nation was run by the University of Glasgow with support from Ebike Freedom CIC and local cycling partners, in 2025/2026, as part of the Gallant project.
We provided free bike loans and cycle training to people in Glasgow who wanted to get riding. The University did the research; we supplied the bikes, the workshop and the people who teach.
Why we take part in research
Everyone in this sector says cycling changes lives. Fewer can show which parts of it work, for whom, and what happens when the funding stops. Work like this is how that gets answered properly rather than anecdotally โ and it is why we are willing to give our time to it.
