Work with us
Two ways in at the moment: a paid coordinator role, and a seat on our board.
Now recruiting
Part-time Volunteer Development Coordinator
We are looking for someone friendly, organised and community-minded to build a new volunteer pathway inside our cycling programmes.
The role supports community volunteers to gain experience, develop cycling skills and, if they want to, progress towards cycle trainer, ride leader or bike mechanic roles. It is the job of turning people who turn up into people who lead.

How to apply
Send a short CV and a brief statement covering your relevant experience and your interest in the role to hello@ebikefreedom.co.uk. We review applications as they arrive, so send yours early rather than waiting.
For an informal conversation first, contact Mavis Mak at mavis.ebikefreedomcic@gmail.com.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, particularly people with experience of volunteering, community development or supporting underrepresented groups.
Join our board
We are looking for volunteer non-executive directors. Two or three meetings a year, and a real say in how this organisation grows.
What the board actually does
Ebike Freedom is a Community Interest Company. Our assets and profits are legally locked into the community: they cannot be taken out by anyone, including us. The board exists to hold that line, to make sure the trading side stays in service of the mission, and that the mission stays honest.
It is not a ceremonial role, and it is not a heavy one. Most of it is reading a paper before a meeting, and a phone that rings occasionally when we need a view.
What we are short of
Finance and governance. Fundraising and trust applications. HR and safeguarding. And people who know the justice system, active travel, or disability and inclusion from the inside.
Lived experience counts as experience
If you have been through the justice system, or you have found cycling closed to you because of a disability, or you have needed the kind of help we give, you understand something about this organisation that no professional background teaches.
You do not need to have been on a board before. You do not need to know what a CIC is. We will explain, and you will pick it up faster than you expect.
The practical bits
Unpaid
This is a voluntary position. Reasonable expenses are covered.
Time commitment
Light, and deliberately so. Occasional email between meetings.
Glasgow-based helps
But it is not essential, and meetings can be joined remotely.
