Donate an E-Bike
The e-bike in your shed is somebody's way to work. Give us the one you stopped riding and we will put it back on the road, whatever state it is in.
We take electric bikes only, working or not. We are an electric workshop: battery testing, motor diagnostics and the spares to match. An ordinary pedal bike is better going to a project set up for those.
No need to apologise for the state of it.
People apologise for the condition of the e-bike they are donating. Please do not. Flat tyres, seized brakes, a battery that stopped holding charge, twelve years in a damp close... that is our ordinary Tuesday. Do not worry and please do not attempt to fix it first.
We fix over 300 e-bikes a month. Bring us the one nobody else will touch.
What happens to it
It gets stripped and tested
Our mechanics take it apart, diagnose it honestly and rebuild it properly. The battery is tested as well as the bike, because a pack that will not hold charge is the difference between a working e-bike and a heavy one.
Then one of two things
It is given free to someone who needs it, or sold refurbished, where the money funds the programmes that give the others away.
Either way it is not waste
Every e-bike we bring back is one that does not go to landfill, and one more affordable bike in Glasgow.
Two ways to give it to us
Bring it in
Drop it at our Glasgow workshop during opening hours. No appointment needed, though a heads-up helps if it is a cargo e-bike or something awkward.
We will come and get it
We collect across the UK, not just Glasgow. Tell us what it is and where it is, and we will come back to you within three working days to arrange it.
Parts, chargers and batteries too
Not just whole e-bikes. We will take spare parts, tools, chargers and batteries, batteries especially. A good pack is expensive to replace and a dead one is hazardous if it goes in a household bin.
If you have a battery you are unsure about, bring it to us rather than binning it. We will test it, and dispose of it properly if it is beyond use.
A business clearing stock?
If you are a retailer, a landlord clearing a bike store, a university, or a fleet operator with e-bikes to move on, talk to us. We can handle volume, we will collect, and we can give you something in writing about where they went for your own reporting.
