Electric bikes for children — from a first balance bike at two, to a full-size off-road machine at twelve.

None of these are road legal. They have no pedals, and under UK law a bike without pedals isn't an electric bike at all. That puts every one of them on private land only: a garden, a field, a trail centre, or ground where you have the owner's permission. We put that first because it's the first thing a parent needs to know, and the thing most sellers leave until last.

Our honest advice is to start smaller and slower than you think. A child who is confident on a bike that's slightly too easy will ride it every day. A child on one that's too fast will leave it in the shed. Speak to us before you buy — we'd rather ask about your child than sell you the wrong bike, and we'll tell you if we think you're buying too much.

Every one of these is checked and handed over by our Glasgow workshop, and we keep the spares. When your child outgrows it, bring it back — we part-exchange, so a bike gets handed on instead of thrown out.
